Rainbow Recycling is a grassroots volunteer organization whose mission is to encourage, facilitate, and expand community recycling and foster allied sustainability practices in Black Mountain and the Swannanoa Valley.

Rainbow Recycling’s activities touch all ages and sectors of the local community. We educate and promote responsible environmental choices through personal contact and a wide variety of media and venues, host special recycling collections and redistribute materials for reuse. Our outreach also includes consulting, providing referrals, and serving as liaison for businesses, industry and institutions, and directly engaging with local government in advocacy efforts.
