Unique Meeting Space in the Heart of the Black Mountain Historic District

Originally known as The McKoy building and built circa 1895, this two-story brick structure near the Depot is Black Mountain’s second oldest remaining building. Residents know that the building has been sitting empty for decades. What they may not know is that it was saved as an historically significant building by Joe Tyson, who prevented its scheduled demise in the mid 1970’s. The McKoy family built the structure as a grocery and boarding house at the end of the 19th century. The wide hallways upstairs were configured to accommodate large steamer trunks set out at night for the morning train porter. Now dubbed The Junction by the Brooks family who acquired it in December, the first floor will soon be the new home of Que Sera Restaurant and Tayloe’s Oyster Bar. The upstairs contains office and meeting space described on this
