At Goodwill, we believe that all people, regardless of situation, should have access to meaningful employment. Through workforce development programs, we help individuals develop the skills they need for today’s job market. We train people for careers in fields such as healthcare, office technology and skilled trades and provide job training, placement and career services to people with disadvantages and disabilities. We believe that work creates the economic energy that builds strong families and strong communities.
A significant portion of the funding for our programs comes from the sale of donated items in our retail stores. Merchandise for our stores is provided through the generous donations of clothing and household items from the community. These donations are critical to our mission. By donating to Goodwill or shopping in our stores, you are helping to support workforce development programs that serve over 15,000 people in northwest NC each year.
Shop our Black Mountain retail store for great bargains on clothing, shoes, books, furniture and housewares. Our selection changes daily so you never know what you may find. Donations can me made at the store and at attended donation centers throughout Buncombe County. For additional locations please visit www.goodwillnwnc.org.
